1856 (Jul 31) 1d Mulready lettersheet (A229) to from Ventnor Isle of Wight to Newcastle on Tyne, with red « More to Pay » handstamp and « 2 to Pay » in manuscript, and bearing a 1d pink postal stationery cut out, cancelled by an 1844 type « 971 » for Ventnor, the reverse showing Bonchurch void double-arc, Ventnor, London and Newcastle transit marks, an outstanding late usage, and extremely rare; cert.
