1909 (19th August) 2d. bottle green (type 2a) Rejected design with oval duty frame and lined background to value, stamp sized essay on glazed card; a fine example of this exceedingly rare essay. Cat from £35,000. Ex “Maximus” (S.G. Auctions 1970).
