1901 (Dec) set of 9 trials for the newly proposed change of colour to blue mounted on archive page and each individually numbered in manuscript above, 1 (Violet Blue), 2 (Pale Dull Blue), 3 (Deep Blue), 4 (Ultramarine), 5 (Pale Ultramarine), 6 (Milky Blue), 7 (Deep Ultramarine), 8 (Bright Blue), 9 (Greenish Blue), Number 4 was approved though a lighter shade was preferred to show up a post office cancel. A very rare and unique exhibition show piece. Ex “Aurelius” (Grosvenor 2009).
