FRANCE, 1849/50, 1fr Dark Carmine and 40c orange with margins to just in, used with 1850, 10c Bister in extremely fine condition, tied by partly clear strikes of “AFFRANCHISSEMENT INSUFFISANT” boxed handstamps (in error as postage was actually overpaid), Paris Oct. 6, 1852 double-circle datestamp on folded cover to New York, USA, red boxed “PD” handstamp, “5” in circle handstamp struck in New York for U.S. internal postage.
