1877 Overprinted 1s yellow green imperforate on course paper, bisected diagonally on cover from Potchefstroom to Grahamstown, tied by target type cancel with departure 28 9 77 cds alongside, “Kimberley” and “Grahamstown” on reverse, envelope bears some staining and faults at lower right and on flap but is one of relatively few non-contrived bisect covers from either the First Republic or First British Occupation periods; ex Christie’s Robson Lowe 1986 and Alan Drysdall 2006.
