1857, First Issue 1d blue, very fine with wide margins all around, tied by circular date stamp “4 OC” (month inverted) on complete “The Natal Mercury” newspaper (Durban September 1, 1859) sent to London. Only six newspapers are recorded with this stamp and this one belongs to the finest known. A great Natal rarity; Cert. J.F.Brun (2011). Catalogue ref: S.G. 1
