1900 (May 8) envelope incl. letter from the Postmaster at the British Post Office in Salonica to the Editor of Ewen’s Weekly Stamp News, with GB 1881 1d lilac die II and three 1900 1/2d blue-green tied by Salonica double circle ds, Norwood arrival bs, with contents informing of the opening of the office on 1st May (seven days prior to the letter) and that “the stamps in use are the same as those used in Constantinople – 40 paras, 80 paras, 4 piastres & 12 piastres”, minor foxing, an uncommon franking and very early usage from this office.
