1860 (Jun 19) envelope from Bridgetown to British Guiana, with 1852-55 (4d) brownish red pair (close to large margins) and 1858 1d pale blue pin perf. pair (trimmed from the sheet, clear margins), tied by “1” barred numerals, paying 10d double rate (2d for the Colony and 8d for the Packet) and rated “2” on arrival, reverse with Barbadoes double arc despatch and Demerara arrival cds, this bearing one of only two covers recorded bearing a multiple of the 1855 (4d) (the other from the same correspondence with the same franking), a major Barbados rarity showing the largest known multiple of the highest values of the first issue; cert.
