1854 (Aug 27) entire to Baltimore, USA, with 1852-55 blued paper (2d) greyish slate vertical bisect with sheet margin at right, very neatly tied by “1” barred numeral with crisp “PAID / AT / BARBADOES” crowned circle adjacent, ms “1/” to pay the packet rate as well as New York Ship 7cts ds, reverse with embossed seal of the Peru Consulate in Barbados along with code “1” cds despatch, Barbadoes double arc ds, Kingston (Jamaica) and St. Thomas transits, one of only four known bisects to the USA according to Peter Ford with this marginal example the finest of its kind; cert. Holcombe (1984).
