1840 (May 7) 1d Mulready lettersheet, stereo A137, from Manchester to London neatly cancelled by a fine strike of the red Maltese Cross with matching Manchester cds on reverse; some light toning not detracting from the fine appearance of this scarce second official day of use; ex Victoriana and listed in May dates on page 269.
