1840 (Mar 11) 1d House of Common front sent by Sir Thomas Charles Styles (elected to represent Scarborough in the 1837 general election, and stood down in 1841. He was a unionist and reformer, supporting extended suffrage and shorter Parliaments), crown “PAID” circle ds, couple of small tears, scarce, and 1854 (Feb 14) “Par. Pro.” House of Commons wrapper sent by George Hadfield (who took a prominent role in the formation of the Anti-Corn Law League, elected as Member of Parliament for Sheffield from 1852 to 1874), with ms”1″ for prepayment in cash, Truro arrival backstamp, tear at foot, fine and scarce.
