1840 (Mar 11) 1d House of Common front sent by Sir Thomas Charles Styles (elected to represent Scarborough in the 1837 general election, and stood down in 1841. He was a unionist and reformer, supporting extended suffrage and shorter Parliaments), crown « PAID » circle ds, couple of small tears, scarce, and 1854 (Feb 14) « Par. Pro. » House of Commons wrapper sent by George Hadfield (who took a prominent role in the formation of the Anti-Corn Law League, elected as Member of Parliament for Sheffield from 1852 to 1874), with ms »1″ for prepayment in cash, Truro arrival backstamp, tear at foot, fine and scarce.
