Uniform Penny Post. Group of six covers all with different 1d penny post handstamps (except one with ms “1”) incl. 1844 cover from Marlborough “PAID / 1” handstamp on cover sent to France which was cancelled in manuscript (a rare overseas usage), 1840 cover from Stoke-on-Trent with ms “1” and very fine cursive “Too Late”, 1845 cover from Chester with “d1” (inverted “d”) and superb “MISSENT TO / BIRMINGHAM” hs, 1840 entire from Godalming with “P1”, 1840 cover from Portglenone (Ireland) with “1Pd” hs, and 1841 Weedon with “P1” handstamp, all very fine covers with excellent strikes; all ex Peter Chadwick.
