Group of six covers all with different 1d penny post handstamps (except one with ms « 1 ») incl. 1844 cover from Marlborough « PAID / 1 » handstamp on cover sent to France which was cancelled in manuscript (a rare overseas usage), 1840 cover from Stoke-on-Trent with ms « 1 » and very fine cursive « Too Late », 1845 cover from Chester with « d1 » (inverted « d ») and superb « MISSENT TO / BIRMINGHAM » hs, 1840 entire from Godalming with « P1 », 1840 cover from Portglenone (Ireland) with « 1Pd » hs, and 1841 Weedon with « P1 » handstamp, all very fine covers with excellent strikes; all ex Peter Chadwick.
