Uniform Penny Post. 1840 (May 5) entire from Todmorden to Halifax with large cursive “P2” handstamp in red with a very fine matching red “Todmorden / Penny Post” handstamp adjacent, Halifax arrival backstamp, the “P2” handstamp is unrecorded in the County catalogues and this example was the source of the illustration for Walker, likely the unique example; along with a front from Todmorden with a cursive “P1” handstamp; ex Peter Chadwick (on his display page).
