1852–57 3d Brown-Red on Medium Wove on Cover3d brown-red on medium wove paper, with good to large margins, tied by concentric circles, pen stroke and a “3D” in circle handstamp to a wrapper from Port Hope, 19 May 1855, via Toronto to Newmarket (with both backstamps).The letter apparently exceeded ½ oz, resulting in an additional 3d tax, indicating double-weight postage.
