1852–57 6d Reddish Purple on Very Thick Wove Paper – Montreal to Dorchester, MA6d reddish purple on very thick soft wove paper, with good to very large margins, tied by “21” numeral cancel on a small neat envelope with contents, bearing MONTREAL L.C. MR 19 1858 circular datestamp, sent to Dorchester, Massachusetts. Envelope split along left edge and tears to the backflap.Note: This cover prepaid the 6d U.S. letter rate effective from 6 April 1851, illustrating early cross-border postage.Expertise: B.P.A.
