1950 British Military Mission in Saudi Arabia: Cover to London from a member of the “BMM to Saudi Arabia”, franked with KGVI 2 1/2d, uncancelled, with FPO 576 cds. alongside. This initial mission of 12 officers and 33 other ranks was formed in 1946 to train Saudi troops at the request of King Abdul Aziz. Mail from this small contingent is very scarce. A larger mission was agreed in 1964 at the request of Prince Faisal to train the National Guard.
