Egyptian/Ottoman steam ship mail: 1851 folded entire letter dated internally June 24, mailed from Constantinople to Alexandria, struck with unrecorded steam ship mail all Arabic negative ‘MEKTUB KIRASI ALINMIŞTIR = POSTAGE HAS BEEN COLLECTED = الينميشدر كراسي مكتوب’ seal in black alongside at left bottom ‘Banque De Constantinople’ Company handstamp in blue.Unrecorded by any catalogue or publication up today. This cachet being amongst the rarest of all Egyptian and Ottoman Maritime hand stamps. Certificate Nakri. Superb exhibition show piece and the only recorded example. Auction
