Gupta Empire, Kumaragupta I, c. 415-455, AV dinar, 8.18 g. (20 mm). Obverse: ‘lion slayer’ type, tall king with curls wearing loin cloth and sash, standing right, shooting arrow at lion right, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: Lakshmi sitting in Lalitasana pose facing on reclining lion facing right, holding lotus flower in left hand and dropping coins with her right, tamgha in left field, Brahmi legend at right, sinhamahendra. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class II, variety C1. Raven, KG1/group 6.

VF-EF, struck with rusty dies, some weakness from the strike on some of the high points and heads on both sides.
