Gupta Empire, Kumaragupta I, c. 415-455, AV dinar, 8.09 g. (19 mm). Obverse: ‘lion slayer’ type, tall king with curls wearing loin cloth and sash, standing right, shooting arrow at lion right, circular Brahmi legend around. Reverse: Lakshmi sitting in Lalitasana pose facing on reclining lion facing right, holding lotus in left hand and scattering coins with her upturned right hand (largely off-flan), tamgha in left field, Brahmi legend at right, sinhamahendra. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class II, variety C. A rare type. Raven, KG1/group 6.
VF, very attractive and high relief.
