Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.69 g. (20 mm). Obverse: ‘lion slayer’ type; king with large earring and wearing tunic over loin cloth turned to left in very dynamic pose with one leg raised, holding the bow and firing an arrow at the lion to the left. Reverse: Lakshmi with halo sitting on reclining lion facing left, her left leg raised and holding a lotus flower and diadem; tamgha to left and Brahmi legend to right sinhavikrama.
