Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.77 g. (19 mm). Obverse: ‘lion slayer’ type; king with large earring wearing tunic over loin cloth and carrying a sash tied on the waist, turned to left in very dynamic pose with one leg raised, holding the bow and firing an arrow at the lion to the left. Reverse: Lakshmi with halo sitting facing on reclining lion to left, holding a lotus flower and diadem; tamgha to left and Brahmi legend to right sinhavikramah. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class III, variety B. Raven, CG2/group 3.
