Lot 1056 – Kushanas, Kanishka III, c. 267-270, AV quarter dinar, 1.91 g. Ardoksho
Kushanas, Kanishka III (probably), c. 267-270, AV quarter dinar, 1.91 g. (13 mm). Obverse: king standing facing, head left with conical helmet, sacrificing over altar and holding staff; trident to left, Bactrian inscription around. Reverse: Ardoksho enthroned, facing, holding cornucopia and diadem, Bactrian inscription to right, tamgha left, dottted border encircling.
An exceedingly scarce quarter issue of King Kanishka III, with nothing similar listed on Coinarchives.
About EF, lustre shows through, well-defined features. Some die cracks along the circumference of the edge.
