Post-Gupta, Kosala, Sarabhapuriyas dynasty, Sri Prasannamatra. Circa 525-550. AV bracteate quarter dinar, 1.28 g. (18 mm). Obverse: Garuda bird facing, flanked by discus and conch shell; crescent and pellet flanking head; below, śri prasannamatra in box-head script Brahmi. Reverse: incuse of obverse.
VF-EF, well struck with good contrast.
A rare coin of the Sarabhapuriyas dynasty in central east India, probaly initially a vassal state of the Gupta Empire, known mainly from coins of this type and a few inscriptions.
