Gupta Empire, Narasimhagupta, c. 495-530, AV dinar, 9.58 g. (21 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type; king standing left, sword at side, holding arrow in right hand, left hand holding bow at top; behind to left, Garuda standard; gre in Brahmi between legs; nara in Brahmi to inner right. Reverse: Lakshmi seated facing on lotus, holding diadem and long-stemmed lotus left, tamgha to left, Brahmi legend to right.
VF, a somewhat crude strike.
A very rare coin and one of the heavier ones recorded for this type.
