Scotland. James VI. 1567-1625. Au Gold Rider, Edinburgh mint, 1594, Au 4.96 g. (28 mm). Obverse: armored figure of James riding right on caparisoned horse, holding sword and reins, legend IACOBVS 6 D G R SCOTORVM. Reverse: Crowned coat-of-arms, SPERO MELIORA around. Very rare.
