Description
Anglo-Saxon England, Edward the confessor, 1042-1066, AR penny, 1.10 g. (18 mm), expanding cross type, struck c. 1050-1053. Obverse: diademed bust left; scepter to left, “EDPAR-D REX”. Reverse: central circle with short cross with expanding arms within, “AEDMVND ON LVND”, Edmund at London.
EF, nicely toned and with excellent detail and legible legends.
