1859 (14.10) Folded letter sheet to Genova, franked 20 Gr. dark slate (ardesia scuro), 5 Gr. dark carmine (caminio scuro)(3) and 1 Gr. plate II, each with frame cancel, endorsed “postali francesi”, Catania despatch and Messina transit datestamps, red three-line French maritime handstamp, arrival backstamp, reverse with slight faults on opening not detracting from the very fine and colourful appearance of an unrecorded 36 grana franking in Sassone, paying the 1 1/2 sheet letter rate made up of 30 grana + 3 grana domestic routing rate.Expertise: Signed Russo, Cert.
