Important Block of Twenty-Five

1859 1Gr. plate III, dark olive green (verde oliva cupo), mint right-hand corner sheet marginal block of twenty-five (5×5), bottom three stamps cut into at base, otherwise good to large margins showing usual original brownish gum, second stamp with tear at top, two vertical creases, the three stamps at foot that are cut into have been visually improved by hinging a strip of three behind, still a spectacular showpiece.

The largest known multiple of the 1 Gr. pl.III in dark olive green according to Bottacchi.
