Description

1883–84 10s Ultramarine: An attractive used block of four, bearing neat strikes of Quayside, Newcastle-on-Tyne CDS cancels dated 1889. The top pair shows a faint horizontal crease, with a small amount of hinge reinforcement; otherwise, the block presents very well. A most appealing and scarce multiple, rarely encountered in this quality (S.G Spec. £3’500 as block of four).
