1856 (Mar 18) envelope from Fordington, Dorchester (Dorset) to New Zealand with 1847-54 6d, close to large margins, tied by Dorchester sideways duplex, endorsed “By Australian mail “Shalimar” March 20th”, paying the 6d rate for up to 1/2oz via the Long Sea Route, Auckland AU 1 1856 arrival adjacent, reverse with Fordington UDC despatch and London transit, portion of backflap and wax seal missing, attractive and unusual destination.
