Description

THE UNIQUE LARGEST KNOWN MULTIPLE WITH A PLATE LETTER

1840 VR Official 1d Black (TF–TL) Phenomenal Lower Right Corner Marginal Inscriptional Strip of Seven — Mint, Plate Number “A”

An exceptional and highly significant multiple, this lower right corner marginal strip of seven from TF–TL retains the rare plate number “A”, with good to very large margins on the other sides. The strip is mint with original gum, with stamp TJ remaining unmounted (never hinged). A vertical fold in the margin between TG and TH is noted for accuracy, but does not touch the stamps, and the strip exhibits deep, fresh colour throughout.

A most impressive and visually striking multiple, representing a key piece of the scarce VR Official 1d Black issue, highly desirable for exhibition and advanced collections.

Provenance: From the Dublin Find.

Expertise: Certified by the British Philatelic Association (2026).
