1840 1d Black, Plate 2, JI. Intense shade, fresh, four margins, on entire letter from London to Wellington, Somerset. Quaker-dated “5th month 27, 1840”. Red Maltese Cross tying the stamp; May 27, 1840 despatch cds on reverse. A fine May-date cover.
