Hawkshead: 1845 (Jan 2) entire letter to used locally in Hawkshead, bearing 1841 1d. red, Pl. 45, NC, neatly cancelled and tied by a fine strike of the “Hawkshead / Penny Post” in blue with an additional strike at right, and outstanding cover illustrated in Danzig and Goldsmith, the finest of the circa five known.
