Description

1840 1d black pl.4 IA-IL, the magnificent complete horizontal row of twelve with large margins all round (touched in only two places), large part original gum; a few faults as to be expected of a strip of this size including ID torn in two and re-joined, though in no way detracting from the stunning appearance of this incredibly rare exhibition quality multiple of which two complete rows exist from this plate, and this is the finer of the two. A major item for the connoisseur.
