1846 (18.7) Folded entire from Smyrne via Malta to Cairo, struck on despatch with fine “Smyrne / Turquie” cds of the French PO and frame “P.P.” plus Malta “Purifié Au Lazaret” in black and slitted for disinfection, struck in transit by Type I black “POSTA EUROPEA / IN ALESSANDRIA D’EGITTO” oval, with “1 1/2” piastre applied in manuscript within the hs, fine and scarce.
