1846 (18.7) Folded entire from Smyrne via Malta to Cairo, struck on despatch with fine « Smyrne / Turquie » cds of the French PO and frame « P.P. » plus Malta « Purifié Au Lazaret » in black and slitted for disinfection, struck in transit by Type I black « POSTA EUROPEA / IN ALESSANDRIA D’EGITTO » oval, with « 1 1/2 » piastre applied in manuscript within the hs, fine and scarce.
