Description
1859 Britannia 4d grey-lilac with Perkins Bacon “CANCELLED” in oval handstamp, presented by the printers to Ormond Hill (the nephew of Sir Rowland Hill) for members of his family, fine to very good margins, very fine and very rare, from pos.1 out of the block of six cancelled as such, although only five are recorded by Jaffé with one in the Royal Collection; ex Latto and Hurlock (S.G. £9’000).
