1855 (December 19^th) Envelope from Wexford to Madison, Indiana, USA, franked GB 2d blue and 4d carmine with highly glazed paper, tied by an English type Spoon “WEXFORD / DE 19 / 1855 / 448” ds in blue, with Boston “Br PACKET / 11 / JAN / 24 / BOSTON” ds, the stamps were ignored and the full charge of 24 cents to be collected, applied. A normal Treaty rate letter that was prepaid the unusual amount of 6d, attractive and colourful transatlantic usage.
