1841 (February 12^th) Folded lettersheet sent from Dublin to London showing an oval black “IMPERIAL HOTEL / POST PAID / DUBLIN” (DF No.96B) and franked 1d black plate 7, good even margins, tied by a Maltese Cross, an attractive usage of the Hotel Post Paid mkg.

Note: The Post Office made concessions to hotels, issuing them with their own Paid handstamps. Hotels provided residents with a service whereby they prepaid postage on their mail and the hotel applied the designated distinctive Post Paid hanstamp.
