Description
1819 (October 13th) Folded letter sheet sent within the Dublin Penny Post system and addressed to “12 Cuff St.” and endorsed “to be forwarded if in Ireland”, showing the large 2-line red “GEN.L-Py P OFFICE 2P Y– PAID” applied in error and overstruck by the correct “GEN.L-Py P OFFICE 1P Y– PAID”, backstamped with three “P.P. OFFICE” ribbon datestamps for 13OC13, 14OC14, 15OC15, indicating that the letter had been posted at least twice, very fine and scarce, being an unusual usage of Paid stamps for both Penny and Twopenny areas (DF No. 148 and 149).
