1800 (August 31st) Folded entire sent from Carrick on Shannon to London showing a large London 2-line “S/IRELAND” in red (DF No.63), rated “6” single (Carrick to Dublin) deleted by inspectors CROWN and rerated with 1/- double. The letter was further rated 2/4 (1/- + 1/4 double Dublin to London = 2/4), showpiece. One of only 2 letters yet recorded originating from outside Dublin with an S/IRELAND handstamp.
