1885 Envelope from the Count de Kergaradec at French Consulate in Bangkok to his wife in Angers, France, franked by Thailand First Issue 1883 1sa ochre, tied by superb crisp strike of the “BANGKOK/P/PAID817.8.1885” cds, showing “POSS.AN./PAQ.FR.N No.1” octagonal maritime ds, with “SINGAPORE” transit and “ANGER” arrival bs, one tiny perf. flaw, an exceptionally fine and rare early usage of the One Salung ochre on cover to France, only a few covers are recorded, exhibition showpiece.
