Description

1881 Printed envelope with enclosed letter, from the “Consulate of the United States of America/BANGKOK – SIAM” addressed to Messers. Kenea & Lane, Eds. “Journal”, La Cygne – Kansas, U.S. of America, cover sent from Hong Kong and franked 10c violet and tied by “B62” numeral with “HONG KONG/C/JY.15.81” cds, with red “SAN FRANCISCO” transit bs, stamp with light horiz. crease, very fine and a very rare consular usage, showpiece.

Note: The enclosed letter is unsigned, however, the sender is likely to be General John Adms Halderman the Consul General.
