1878, Provisional 1 d. on half 5 s. rose, surcharge reading up, an unsevered pair, both stamps with ‘1’ of surcharge with curved serif (Type 3a), of very good colour, perf. fault at top, mint with large part og. A great rarity of Barbados with just seven unused pairs recorded by Fitz Roett; cert. RPS (1935) (S.G. £ 26’000); ex C.J.L. Snowden May 1947.
