Lot 10642 – Veracruz 50c+ 13c (2) bicolor engraved cover to Jalapa

Veracruz 13c blue pair and 50c green engraved (consignment 128-1866), excellent margins for the most part, on spectacular bicolored entire letter to Jalapa dated March 3, 1867 (consignment 128-1866), paying the triple rate, tied by dispatch cds’s (Schatzkès # 1757A). There are very few covers with the 50c engraved, and this is one of the most attractive; in addition, the consignment including the only values on this invoice was sent at the very end of the Empire era, as Maximilian was executed on June 19, 1867.
