Description
Veracruz 13c blue lithographed (consignment 61-1866), cut into at top and base, good to huge at right, on maritime cover to Bordeaux, France dated September 13, 1866 and paying 13c for the local rate to the port of embark, and charged 10 décimes on delivery, tied by cds on dispatch (Schatzkès #1757A), with “Ligne-B/Paq. Fr. N°2” cds on back and carried by the French “Panama” ship. Very few maritime covers have survived from this issue. Catalogue ref: Scott 27
