Description
1810 ca. Cover front from Trujillo via Cartagena-Corunna to Cádiz (Spain), well struck by “Truxillo” & “Peru” straight-line postmarks in red. Handwritten “4 Rs. vn.” (Reales de vellón) corresponding to an American inland rate, and “8R” rate marking applied on arrival for the single maritime weight. Just three items are known exhibiting the “Peru” marking of Trujillo.
