1802 (Dec 22). Entire letter from Campeche to Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), transported at single rate via Havana and Cádiz, then being placed on board another ship to final destination, displaying Italic “Islas De/Barlovento.” (P.E. 31) hs in red at Havana, black “Yndias” straight-line of Cádiz (P.E. 5) and “4” reales rate marking as required for the unpaid maritime rate. One of just fewer than five letters recorded exhibiting the “Islas de Barlovento” and “Yndias” postmarks.
